Goodway Group is looking for a hands-on Global Staff Accountant to support our accounting team with month-end close, journal entries, accrual accounting, reconciliations, and financial data analysis. This role is ideal for someone who has strong core accounting experience and enjoys digging into the details, managing complex data sets, and helping ensure financial records are accurate and timely. This position will work closely with the Controller and accounting team to support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting needs across the business.

What You Will Do

Month-End Close Support

The Staff Accountant will own or support recurring close activities, including:

Preparing routine journal entries

Supporting accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and expense allocations

Reconciling balance sheet accounts

Investigating and resolving reconciling items

Maintaining close checklists and supporting documentation

Ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on schedule

Account Reconciliations

Cash and bank accounts

Prepaids

Accrued expenses

Fixed assets

Corporate credit cards

Intercompany accounts, if applicable

Other assigned balance sheet accounts

Accounts Payable / Expense Support

Reviewing coding accuracy

Supporting vendor payment workflows

Reconciling AP-related accounts

Reviewing employee expense submissions for policy compliance

Helping resolve vendor or internal questions

Financial Reporting Support

Preparing schedules for monthly financial statements

Providing variance explanations for assigned accounts

Supporting audit requests

Maintaining supporting documentation

Helping ensure reporting packages are complete and accurate

Process and Documentation

Maintaining SOPs and process documentation

Identifying process gaps or inconsistencies

Supporting system clean-up and data validation

Creating repeatable workflows for recurring accounting tasks

Supporting improvements to close, reconciliation, and reporting processes

Payroll Accounting Support, as Needed

Supporting payroll-related accruals or journal entries, as needed

Assisting with payroll-related reconciliations, if applicable

Partnering with the internal payroll team on accounting-related questions

Who You Are

You have a minimum of four years of accounting experience.

You have strong hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

You have experience reconciling balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaids, accrued expenses, fixed assets, or corporate credit cards.

You are comfortable working with complex data sets and investigating discrepancies.

You possess “when no one’s looking” integrity and have a high level of ethics and character.

You are a self-starter who can work independently while knowing when to ask questions.

You are extremely detail-oriented and able to multitask to meet deadlines.

You have strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

You have the aptitude and flexibility to understand the informational requirements of the business as it changes.

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You are proficient with MS Office, especially Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

Experience with NetSuite and Concur is preferred.

Experience in an advertising, media, marketing, or agency environment is a plus.

You have a willingness to learn and grow with the organization.
